i believe she was too old to recieve that honor. she was fake. i believe the winner should have been that crowder girl. she had amazing posture and she was beautiful. the judges had to have been corrupt... kelley yoho's question was obviously rehearsed.

i felt as though the results should have been obvious... the crowder girl was the only one that presented herself professionally and spoke well on stage with intelligence... yoho will not be competitive at the state level. and it is a shame that once again vermillion county will not be recognized or placing at the state pageant. we tend to send bigger girls with little ambition. once again we send a barely average girl...

Sylvia Crowder did stand out above the rest. I 100% support the opinions stated above. It is sad that she will not be representing us in August. Sometimes politics play a role in small towns. Could that be what happened here?

I can't say anything bad about Yoho but I would love to see Crowder represent Vermillion County next year. Very few girls from the area are able to speak and present themselves properly. Posture, body language, "modeling" all play a large role in the success of the queen and Crowder had it all. She also was involved in several community and school events/athletics which I feel is important. Her age is the only thing that may have hurt her since she was the youngest.

I had the opportunity to meet Miss Crowder at an event where she was appearing as Miss Illiana Teen. She was a very sweet, genuine girl to work with. I was shocked to read these comments when I searched the internet to see how she did in the pageant last weekend, as I had heard she was competing in order to prepare for a state title. She has enormous potential and I can only imagine that the above comments are the truth. However, the results are not going to change and I hope that the general public will let the queen enjoy her week anyways.

Why would you want to see her run again? If she should have won(and I feel that she should have) there had to be a reason why. Would or could the same thing happen again next year?

Is it possible that the pageant director should be made aware of some of of these comments or thoughts? Just wondered......

It is very rude to speak this way about someone who has obviously worked very hard to acheive the title of Miss Vermillion County. While Miss Crowder is beautiful and well-spoken, Miss Yoho is as well! As with almost any other competition, senority matters. I'm sure that if Miss Crowder was truly as intelligent and well-mannered as you all have said, she would realize that patience is also a virtue.

I don't feel that all are indicating that Miss Crowder is more intelligent or better-mannered than Miss Yoho or that she needs to have more patience. I am not even sure why you would indicate that she is even aware of these comments. This is an opinion forum and you entitled to yours but I am note sure that anyone or all are as opionated or directed as your comment.

Sylvia Crowder is a pretty girl, with a bad attitude. At the VCF Queen Pageant, she was very fake. If you had been to the pageant, you would have seen that. Kelly was NOT fake, at all. She told a cute story that was funny, and that is just her personality. Crowder's answer was "all I want in life is to cure cancer". COME ON. It's not Miss America. Kelly worked just as hard as the other girls and deserved the title, in my opinion. Crowder got 2nd runner-up and didn't even WEAR her sash most of the week at the fair. And rarely did she appear as a member of the Queen's Court at fair events. She would have been smart to step up to the plate a little more for future success.

Sylvia does NOT HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE. She is one of the most wholesome girls I have seen in a long time! She really meant that about Cancer!! She did wear her sash at many events. She did not appear at the parade because she competed in the Mastershowmanship and the parade was after that. You should find out more about the facts.

I wasn't talking about the parade. I know she wasn't there due to master showmanship. I was at master showmanship. I do know the facts. I was there all week and saw her numerous times carrying her sash around, not wearing it. In fact, I only saw her wear it to get into the grandstand events.

It sounds like someone has a little envy in their life if they were watching Sylvia all the time. All the contestants were very pretty and nice girls. Let it go at that.

I said I saw her numerous times, I didn't say I was "watching her all the time". Yoho deserved the crown, period. Crowder can try again.
