Longtime fire chief will hang up his ax
EULESS -- Fire Chief Lee Koontz will retire after 26 years with the city. His last day will be March 1.
Koontz, 58, said he wants to spend time with his family. He plans to travel with his wife, Lark, and to teach his 3-year-old grandson, K.J., how to golf.
'This city has been good to me and my family,' Koontz said. 'It's a great organization, and it's a great place to work. I'm going to miss a whole lot of people. That's the hardest part about retirement -- the people you leave behind.' Read more
