Gold Discovered in Rattlesnake Hills near Casper

In 1981 and 1982, geologist Dan Hausel discovered gold in the Rattlesnake Hills, central Wyoming while searching for a large tonnage, low-grade gold deposit.

This discovery led to recognition of a previously unknown gold district. Now mining companies are exploring this area 27 years later and recent drilling proved what Hausel had been saying all along. Wyoming hosts major gold (and other mineral) deposits.

In addition to the Rattlesnake Hills, Hausel found hundreds of gold anomalies, several gemstone deposits, and some base metal and platinum-group metal deposits in Wyoming (http://gemhunter.webs.com/goldplatinum.htm) as well as some world class gem deposits (http://wygemstones.blogspot.com).

Hausel indicated that it is likely that some gold, colored gemstone & diamond deposits will be mined in Wyoming in the near future.
