Vacant Property Recovery Program Expanded
Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato has announced the expansion of the County's vacant property recovery program.
This new expansion has the goal of returning additional blighted parcels to productive use.
Approximately 500 vacant properties have been recovered in Allegheny County since 2004, including those in Braddock, Carnegie, Homestead, North Braddock, Pitcairn, McKees Rocks, Rankin and Wilkinsburg.
Today's new announced effort will recover 15 properties in Etna, Harrison Township, Heidelberg, Penn Hills, Swissvale and Turtle Creek through a public-private partnership.
