I was outraged to learn that the city of Carmel was refusing to provide requested documents in the sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed against the city administrator Rich Guillen.

The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea, since 2000 and the election of Sue McCloud as mayor, has a culture of not only discrimination and sexual harassment, but also RETALIATION.

Case in Point: In September, City Clerk/Asst City Administrator Heidi Burch sent a letter to John Hanson stating his pay differential and medial benefits would end in November and December, respectively. In October, Col. Grimm sent a letter to City Administrator Rich Guillen to ask for Hansons pay differential and medical benefits be left intact. Yet, Mayor Sue McCloud said she was not familiar with the situation and the city council doesn’t have anything to do with it, those things we don’t get involved in, unless there’s a policy issue. She lied; her city councils passed resolutions for each of Hansons previous military leaves for annual pay differential and medical benefits. Faced with embarrassment at the 3 November 2009 city council meeting over this issue, Carmel Mayor Sue McCloud amended the city council agenda to include a Resolution for salary and benefit difference to city employees activated into military service, specifically for Building Official John Hanson who is currently in Afghanistan.

Question: Why did the policy change this time?

Answer: Retaliation for John Hansons disposition in the Jane Miller sex and age based discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation case, which he gave in July.

Michael Le Page asked the question: When will the mayor and council do the right thing?

Answer: Carmel Mayor Sue McCloud has perpetrated a culture of harassment, discrimination and retaliation at City Hall since 2000. Anyone who challenges that culture as being unethical or illegal is met with derision and dismissive comments, like its nothing, or attacked by surrogates, usually with the willing assistance of the media.

Carmel can only rehabilitate itself by electing new people to the city council. All of the present city council members must be thrown out because they knew about this culture of corruption a long time ago and did nothing about it.

Same is true for Flanders--lies and distortions by the McCloud admin. A vote to KEEP Flanders is a vote to THROW OUT Sue McCoud and her band in co-conspititors.

Oh man I had to laugh at the very clever name SumoCloud. That mayor of Carmel is such a liar, she knows exactly what is going on and advise Gullien to take his issues "out of town." The City has thus far wasted over $100,000 to defend the indefensible relying on a high priced outside law firm more then happy to run up the tab on Carmel taxpayers. Rather then work to resolve this issue Carmel elected officials and that slime bag Rich Guillen and his B**CHES have chosen to hold their ground. The entire city seems to operate as one large hostile work environment. Wasn't Carmel's city manager the city manager of Seaside and had some problem over there?

The City of Carmel is now trying tactics to get one of the better Monterey County attorneys removed from Jane Kingsley Miller's case, Michael Stamp. The City of Carmel claiming that Stamp has a conflict because he has represented Carmel on other issues. What they fail to state is that Carmel knew Jane Kingsley had Mr. Stamp as her attorney for well over a year, never objected once, and pulls the same thing PG tried to pull when PG tried to keep Stamp from representing one of PG's employees. PG lost that one as I assume Carmel will lose this one, so another 10-15,000 in legal fees billed to Carmel for their frivolous motion.

The joy of litigation. Carmel should be ashamed of its leaders and the pervert running their city.

Peace prize? Obama? Despite the fact that the Nobel is handed out by a bunch of leftist Norwegians, and has been given to cockroaches such as Arafat, I beg to differ with your claim that Obama has been diligently working on peace. As SNL succinctly pointed out, he has done diddly and squat.

Daily Horoscope for November 23

Aquarius

You may be noticing the effects of Mars in Aquarius now, which will give you the extra strength you need to fight any battles. Unfortunately, Mars does not impart tact or diplomacy as one of his gifts, so try to think before you speak as much as possible. Legal issues can become thorny over the next month or so; employ strategy rather than brute strength to win the day.
