Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on July 1
Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in honor of a Kentucky native soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Tip leads police to wanted man
Officers responding to a suspicious-person report at an apartment complex near downtown early Tuesday arrested an allegedly armed man who was wanted on felony warrants in two counties, Athens-Clarke police said.
Linda Lack Brown, of Canon, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at her home. Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, has charge of arrangements.
