Abortion language must be removed from health bill

Just before the House Bill on Health Care barely passed 220 to 215 on Saturday, an interesting ammendment from the Republican minority was passed. It passed with considerable help from the Democrats. This ammendment provided that no Federal dollars would be used to fund abortion.
It will be interesting to see if the final Senate & House compromise Bill contains this exclusion!!!
In my opinion, The Health Care Bill could just as easily have been dubbed the 2009 Taxpayer ACORN Assistance Bill. Welfare by any other name is still welfare. And there are many ways to direct taxpayer dollars to preferred institutions or constituents. The main problem is that our children and grandchildren will never recover from the billions of deficit dollars being spent by our Federal Government-both Democrats and Republicans....

I'd say you are 100% on the money! There were 39 NAY votes from the Democrats which in my opinion was nothing more than setting the scene for the 2010 elections. Most people are not stupid, and I certainly hope this ploy does not work in 2010....

yes, I agree ... most people are not stupid but I think alot of people need to open their eyes and look around at the changes this administration has made. These changes are NOT looking good for the middle class working man! I think I might be one of those "right wing extremists".

This post is very interesting and informative. People need to realize whatever happens in Washington affects us all. We are going to pay for all this big spending. Sooner or later, we will pay!
I think it's also important for the people of this county to realize that some of our influenial county commissioners, county mayor, state representative and congress all supported the election of Obama. Each were also big supporters of Harold Ford who is a mega liberal. Liberals all have one agenda, their own. These locals say, "we haven't raised taxes in 7 years". Funny, I pay more each year. If I pay more, they have gone up. It's simple math.
2010 should be a house cleaning from the county commission up!

Because even though your RATE didn't increase, your EAV (estimated Assessed Value) did.

Next time you hear some song and dance argument from a taxing authority, PUNCH BACK. Don't let them yank on your heart strings with "it's for the KIDS"..when not a single piece of dead wood in the administration gets laid off, but they slash stuff for the kids.

Everyone was WARNED this was an END RUN around the HYDE amendment that the liberals couldn't undo...so they were going to GUT that amendment with a hidden end run.. and they got nailed.

So now, they're out right telling you, they're gonna strip it in committee.

We'll take the funding for THIS bill, and use it to fund Yucca Mountain and fire up the nuke energy field in the US again....
