BYRAM, Miss. - A sport utility truck has plowed into the children's play area of a McDonald's restaurant outside of Jackson, Miss., injuring five people.

Officials told WLBT that three men walked into the Copiah Bank at Terry Road and Swinging Bridge Drive and demanded money.

This year will be the first municipal elections since Byram reincorporated in June 2009.

As apparent punishment for some unknown transgression, The Powers That Be decided to put me in charge of collecting candidate information for our voter's guide for the upcoming municipal elections.

The break, which some residents mistakenly thought was a sink hole, was caused by crews installing a water tap, Byram Public Works Director Tammie Roberson said.
