Burgin soldier in Iraq attends daughter's birth via Webcam
“Don't wake me till daddy comes home.”
The cry heard halfway around the globe came a little more than an hour after Bailey Mae Powell came into the world.
Thanks to a live video feed via a laptop computer's Webcam, Marine Cpl. Andy Powell, who is in Iraq, was able to see and hear his newborn daughter's wail Wednesday as she was held by his wife, Kristin Powell.
'It's the best birthday present ever,' said Andy Powell, who turned 23 on Monday.
Similar Webcam links have been set up for births elsewhere in the United States, but this was the first for Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Read more
