A new wildfire in the foothills southwest of Denver forced the evacuation of dozens of homes Wednesday as hot and windy conditions in much of Colorado and elsewhere in the West made it easy for fires to start and spread.

Evacuations have been ordered for a 3 mile radius, starting at the intersection of Foxton and River Road.

Two Douglas County School District principals attended holiday parties in December then showed up for an off-site school meeting the next morning, where they were given breath-alcohol tests by school security because some suspected they had been drinking.
