Young man killed, another under arrest after crash near Buckley

The sad thing is, I understand this is not the first incident the driver has been involved in. Of course you never know the entire story but the talk was that someone was killed in the last accident also. What does it take? My heart breaks for the families.

I drove by the memorial to see beer cans and POT references all over the memorial... these families and kids need help.. so this wont happen again

Yes, I do believe that IS true - the driver in this accident was nearly killed in another accident in which he was a PASSENGER. The driver in that accident did not survive, and because of this was mourned as a terribly tragic life cut short (rightfully so, any young life taken is a tragedy) rather than raked over the coals as a menace based on speculation and gossip alone.
Please, think before typing the next time - if you don't know, you don't know. Remember your manners (if you don't have anything nice to say? were you ever taught that rule as a child?) and leave it at that.

Thanks for driving by the memorial! But did you know derrick? I did! He was like my son! He was 21 and so were most of his friends so if they go there to have a beer with him, what is the problem with that? I drive most of them there and back and its one beer! As to the pot References, someone made a cross with pot leaves on it, that is that persons issue, Derrick didnt make it for himself! He was an awesome kid with a huge heart that died for no other reason except a punk kid wanted to show off and drive way too fast with faulty equipment!! Please dont judge unless you know what you are talking about thanks!!1

he liked to jump kids with his friends, and now he is in jail. what happened was inevitable, the only question was when? And whos life he was going to take,his or the life of another. I still dont understand why he would endanger anothers persons life like he did, he knows what the out come could possibly be because, he was not more than 2 years ago, the victim in a terrible car accident leaving his friend dead. I would think that would have made him think about how dangerous a 2 ton machine really is, but i guess for some people, reality doesnt click until its to late, and as of now it is. i think a 36 month sentence is a little to short of a sentence, but maybe he will think twice about what HE DID, maybe he will face his own demons. Im sorry to the mother of Derrick, because i to know what it is like to lose a close family member, and i know it hurts, just know he is watching over you and you family

I know Jake and his family all two well....it is about time he suffers the consequences for his actions. Before anyone says I don't anything, I certainly do! Jake is always in trouble with the police. His Mother rakes everything under the table when it comes to Jake. Nothing is his fault...her words are "kids will be kids". Jake does't take responsibility for anything because his Mother doesn't make him. He has been kicked out of numerious homes. He even moved into another state to get away from Enumclaw. He got in trouble 1600.00 miles from enumclaw as well. What parents put there 16 year old up in his own apartment in another state 1600 miles away. A kid that dropped out of school and has no job. Give me a break!
