Man could face life in prison for killing Vancouver police dog

The man accused of killing a Vancouver police dog has been found competent for trial, after treatment at a state mental hospital. via KOMO-TV Seattle

About 20 years ago in Sacramento, CA a 19 year old man killed my two friends, a man and his wife who was 5 months pregnant. He was sentenced to 3 years, 9 months. He hit them with his truck. He was estimated to be going between 90 and 100 mph at the moment of impact. He had SEVEN DUIs on his record before that. After he served PART of his time, he was freed, given back his license and racked up 12 more DUIs and another manslaughter charge. I guess if he had shot a dog, he might have gotten a stiffer penalty. Could we please get some standardized penalties and sentencing in this country? AND get some of those YAHOOS out of the judicial system?
