The lawsuit was filed on behalf of U.S. Citizens. The suggested discrimination involves the fact that the husband is a U.S. citizen "Hispanic-American."

It is very unfortunate that so many countless millions of illegal, criminal, invading aliens have flooded across the sovereign border of the U.S.A., an act of criminality which has placed many ordinary Legal American Citizens in the position where ALL hispanics--especially those preferring to speak Spanish only--must be considered illegal until proven otherwise. This demonstrates the need for a National ID Badge which must be worn at all times & proclaims loudly one's Legal American Citizen Status.(Anybody refusing to display this Badge would automatically be suspected of being an illegal alien & would, of course, be subject to questioning by proper law authorities. There is little difference in this kind of procedure where a cop stops a motor vehicle & asks to see license, registration & proof of insurance.) Oh, I know, I know...so many amnesty advocates & open border enthusiasts will scream "Racists, Nazis & the like"; however, I feel quite certain that a great number of truly patriotic Legal American Citizens would be proud to wear The Badge! There's not a whole lot of difference from proudly wearing an American flag pin or some other emblem showing how happy & proud the individual is to be a Legal American Citizen!!!(Oh, sure, there would be clever forgeries; however, these could easily be defeated by some type of scientific method similar to spotting bogus bills or crime scene blood...) All these Great Brains in Washington, DC--especially Chuck "love-those-illegal-alien -voters/workers" Schumer--want True Reform...well, The Badge would go a long way in making IT happen!

The fair housing act says that he can't discriminate based on national origins or race. It says nothing about 'regardless of legal status' as the story says. If in the later case, these people were legal citizens in the united states, then the landlord is wrong and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

In the first case of trying to force the land lord to accept people that he can't even chase down for the rent money if they chose to run, is wrong and not acceptable. In every other country in the world you must provide legal, personally identification in order to rent as well as having rent taken by direct deposit out of your bank account. In Mexico you need to prove you have the legal right to be in the country to rent a place.

If I was renting an apt I'd never rent to a mexican, any mexican. There have to be many legal excuses for not renting to a risky tenant?

No verifiable renting history.
No verifiable credit history.
Too many family members for one apt.
Too high of a debt to income ratio.
No verifiable employment history.
(just combine any of the above and say 'no senor', I no rent to joo'.)

Why don't these landlords get smarter when it comes to discriminating against illegal mexicans? I know I'd do everything in my power to keep from renting to them.

I have an application form for them to fill out that includes a criminal background check, first and last months rent plus deposit AND references from their last place of residence. Also names and ages of every occupant. This does allow Hispanics most of the time but not one negrow has passed the application process, most don't even bother after they hear "criminal background check".

Aren't American laws meant for American citizens? Who are we to tell the world how they are to live? Our laws are for our citizens. They don't apply to those who are citizens of another country.

Or are our laws place those who are illegal above this country's citizens?

Frankly, it's to late. It is not just the mex anymore, just come to the Pacific Northwest where I live and you can visit one of the many muslim temples. Well, maybe you couldn't.
We started moving toward the one world order when they started giving our country away. Frankly,I would perfer the mex's because being a christian we at least worship the same God. The east Indians are a whole different world from us. You will never see a white person at an east indian function. We will someday want thoses mex's on our side.

You haven't been to very many east indian functions have you? Just like you may only see a few east indians at a white function, it is the same in revers(assuming you are white). also, you would be suprised how many christians indians there are. Some even convert when they get to america but retain the cultural dress or customs that some people assoiciate with hindu's, as most east indains are not musliums. It would be more for pakistani's to be musliums.
But I want anyone of any religion or strip on my side if they are legal Americans.

East Indian functions? Yes, they are right over the fence from me. I watch them almost every day. Most white functions are open to everyone because God fobid the white man would have a white only institution/church, that would be discrimination. Would I feel welcome at the Sieks religous functions, um no. They are not here to blend with America, they have their own agenda.
I am not upset with these people personally, I am upset that they just open the borders in our country. In Yakima Wa. I dealt with the illegal mexicans, if people really knew how deep the fraud was into everything the SSI the state the employer, you could not help but be offended. I grew up with my hand on my heart pledging allegince to the flag of America and MY COUNTRY sweet land of liberty. Now, I am soppose to stand by and just let it happen. What am I soppose to think.

There's a technique to successful discrimination that this landlord obviously doesn't know, as you, my Chicago friend, have demonstrated.

A few years ago I was looking for a place that I could move into right away. There was a studio advertised; the owner was an eye doctor. I went to his office wearing my work clothes and turned in an application (which mentioned that I was a college grad, also). By the time I got back to work he had already called. I met him after work and rented the place.

I found out later that there was a Mexican family of four who had put in before me for this little studio. That was the easiest decision that doctor ever made.
