Ponderosa Fire evacuees seek shelter in Oroville

Oroville >> The Church of the Nazarene in Oroville on Wednesday housed at least 15 evacuees of the Ponderosa Fire early Wednesday before new evacuation orders were issued for Berry Creek, Brush Creek and Mountain House. Gina Englund, a Red Cross volunteer, said it was impossible to know how many were at the other evacuation center at the Ponderosa Community Center in Brownsville because cellphone and radio signal is “sketchy” out there.
