The mother of the 14-year-old Milwaukee boy who drowned in Racine County is speaking publicly for the first time about the controversy surrounding her son's death.

The morning after searchers recovered 14-year-old Darieus Nelson's body Thursday, there is a report a friend who was swimming with Nelson said that Darieus yelled "I swim like Michael Phelps" before going into the water and eventually drowning.

Thirteen-year-old Stephan Kingue says he's cried each morning since he watched his friend drown Tuesday in Racine County.

The body of a missing Milwaukee boy was pulled from Browns Lake today. Divers and a helicopter had been searching 14-year-old Darieus Nelson on the lake.

Searchers continue to look for the body of Darieus Nelson. Nelson, 14, drowned in Browns Lake in Racine County on Tuesday.

July 14, 2009 11:36 p.m. Racine County authorities will resume searching Wednesday morning for a teenage boy who disappeared under water Tuesday afternoon in Browns Lake in Burlington.

Rescue teams have temporarily suspended their search of Browns Lake in Racine County for a 13-year-old boy who went under the water.
