Hernando County deputies say traffic stop escalated when driver punched them and fled

It could have been a simple traffic stop Deputies stopped Cordell Cross on Monday for having a loud car stereo and no safety belt when they discovered that he also was driving without a license, a Hernando County Sheriff's report said.
