It seems to me that there should be a phone out there for the visually impaired that has only the standard keypad (with perhaps braille keys or audible numbers when the keys are pressed).
Years ago, some of you may rememember having to memorize important phone numbers. They weren't available in any phone. And, visually impared people aren't as likely to be out and about as much as a normal person, so they are more likely to have important phone numbers at home in an accessable form to them.
Unless the visually impared person is trying to look "cool" there's no reason for an iPhone. Next they'll be having training sessions for deaf people to use iPods.
