Authorities say two inmates who escaped from a youth detention center in southern New Jersey over the weekend have been captured. Eighteen-year-old Hakim Walls and 20-year-old Jermaine Jackson, both of Bridgeton, were captured Monday afternoon.

Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes Unit, and Troop "A" Criminal Investigations Office, working in cooperation with the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, have arrested Jose Martinez, 27, and Omar Galvez, 34, both from Bridgeton, N.J., for the murder of Jennifer Cruz-Chavez. On Sunday, August 24, at approximately 4:35 p.m., troopers responded to Buckshutem Road in the area of milepost 4 for the report of a body being discovered by hunters in a wooded area located just off of the roadway.
BRIDGETON - Upon hearing noise on their roof, a city resident was surprised to see a man attempting to break into their house Wednesday afternoon, police said. According to the Bridgeton Police Department, the burglary attempt occurred Wednesday on the 300 block of Pine Street around 3 p.m. When they checked the roof, the resident saw a light-skinned black male that was approximately 5-foot-7-inches tall.
