Good luck and bad showed up on Friday the 13th when a home on Harris Lane in Reno was heavily damaged by an accidental fire.

“I had hoses all over my yard, and then firetrucks came by and helped me put it out. It was pretty scary there for a little while.”
The smell of smoke startled Casandra Castillo from her sleep.
Looking out her window, she saw that her yard was ablaze. Then she glanced toward her parents' nearby home. It was engulfed in flames.
Castillo jumped in her truck and fled through the fire burning on both sides of her driveway onto a gravel road just south of Paradise in Wise County, still uncertain of her parents' fate.
'I didn't know if my parents were home. I couldn't see through the smoke,' Castillo said. 'There was so much smoke that I could only see the road in spots.' Read more
