BISD Board of Trustees hire new Special Education Coordinator
Breckenridge ISD Board of Trustees hired a Director of Special Education, two teacher/coaches and a teacher at a special meeting April 7. The group approved the hiring of Susan Britting as the Special Education Director starting with the 2014-2015 school year.

Lawrence Brothers manager killed in one-vehicle accident
Charles Jackson, 66, died about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, after the back passenger's side tire blew out on his 1998 Ford F-250, causing the pickup to go into a side skid and roll several times, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.

Search ends for new SMH administrator
Stephens Memorial Hospital has found its next administrator. Matt Kempton has been named the new administrator of Stephens Memorial Hospital and will start his duties Monday, April 14. Kempton was hired through a residency program after his graduation from Texas A&M University's rural-based healthcare program.
