Roy Rogers was doing a personal appearance at a War theater and he spent a lot of time in the projection booth. My whole family met Bette Davis when she filmed a movie just up the road from our home. A very sweet lady. We met and talk to Tim Conway when we were in the Cleveland Airport, his family lives there and we talked. Dorothy Lamour was in our town with a Big Band and was in a Dept store just as friendly as could be. Oral Roberts was in a large tent service and was kind to us. Jimmy Dickens was in town and was in a One Hour Dry Cleaners and invited all to his C/W Show. Micky Rooney was doing a show just 5 yrs ago at a HS here, he was walking all over Main St greeting people. He sure looked old. One thing that stood out was these did not have security guards around them. Oh, how things has changed. If you go to Charles Stanleys church in Atlanta and he greets you, you will see a couple big guys close by him. He is a must today. I had a friend named Ed his name never appeared in the movie credits and he would do a lot of cowboy movies as one sitting in the Saloon or walking down the street called an extra. It was interesting hearing him talk of the way Movies were made in the 1940's.
