Candle light vigil? A "vigil" is to keep watch, as in waiting for something to happen (someone to be released from imprisonment or oppression, or something to be done, etc). There seems to be a candlelight "vigil" in this area every other day.

Fighting fire with fire or are they trying to shine a light on a dark issue. It's a good feeling to gather with others and vent your thoughts. after the vigil they will go up to the historical hall and warm their souls and sip the kool-aid of the village blues. So do you hold a vigil for the vigilante or just the lynch party?

This from the Associated Press: "A suspicious fire swept through the 2 1/2-story structure late Sunday, destroying the vacant post-and-beam structure and with it a piece of the past..........the Putney Historical Society bought it for $105,000 and spearheaded a private fundraising effort to cover the $880,000 cost of renovating it and finding a new store operator. A community block grant for $200,000 was obtained, and a $100,000 Village Revitalization Grant. Individual donations raised $70,000, and an estimated $18,000 worth of in-kind services were donated."

Sound like someone flamed the place to cover up the fact that the $880,000 that couldn't be justified as the cost to re-build that place. Maybe President Obummer will send some of that so called stimulus money to Putney to do build it again.

well money does get past down to the Omama clan but this town is too liberal and not a communist [although close]and not enough of that strange religious beliefs of praying your neighbors dead or blowing the up. so all money going to Putney shall be in the form of education since they got a lot of problems with direction. the churches are closing and museums are on the rise. no problem with this trend of back to basics land rats
