For three hours Saturday, supporters of St. Lawrence Central athletes took Dodge vehicles for a test drive in a fundraiser that put just over $2,600 in the school's athletic fund.

Now that casino gaming compact funds will be flowing again, Brasher officials are moving ahead with plans to build a new town garage on County Route 53 in Helena.

Students who went above and beyond this school year were recognized during J. William Leary Junior High's end-of-year award assembly Tuesday afternoon.

A Brasher Falls woman turned herself in to Potsdam police Wednesday to face charges in connection with an alleged theft from an employer nearly three years ago.

Board member Cynthia L. Humerickhouse made the motion, which member Bruce S. Strough seconded, for a 5-0 vote during a special board meeting Wednesday at the junior-senior high school, 17643 Cemetery Road.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department deputies charged Paul D. Donnelly, 31, of 9 North St., Brasher Falls, with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 10:58 p.m. Saturday at the entrance to the CC Dam off County Route 55 just outside the hamlet of North Lawrence.

The academic leaders for the class of 2013 at St. Lawrence Central School are Heather Nicholson, valedictorian, and Caitlin Grow, salutatorian.

Massena Central School District voters said yes to the district's 2013-14 budget on Tuesday by a 463-263 margin.
