Some Indiana inmates might get the chance to swap their prison jumpsuits for coal miners' hats when they complete their sentences, thanks to a new federally-funded program at the Branchville Correctional Facility.

Some Indiana prison inmates are going to start training for new careers as coal miners.

The wheels of government seldom move as quickly as many would like but we were impressed that security improvements at Branchville Correctional Facility were made quickly after the escapes of three men.

Twelve Perry County 4-H members have reached their 10th and final year in 4-H. Ten-year members include Alexandria Bashor, Samson Benjamin, Leighsa Carter, Krista Evrard, Kayla Hagedorn, Katie Hess, Ryan Kessens, Jake Paulin, Abigail Preher, April Sherman, Derek Suhrheinrich and Emily Tempel.
