How stupid are people? Why would you put a train depot a 1/2 mile away from the r.r. tracks? They could have at least tried to keep it near the tracks. Big mistake.

I heard that the depot will sit on the truck for a year. How safe is it to have the building sit in the air like that without any fencing around it accident waiting to happen. They(the city)does not have the money to finish the project. I am waiting for someone to play target practice with the windows.

There was a couple who have property on 129 who offered it for the depot. Well guess what Sue and her croonies think its better on Main street. Like the previous person said, what a joke. And has anyone heard if there going too tear down those buildings on Main Street this summer? Maybe they shouldn`t, afterall they knew they were moving the depot and did they get ready for it, no. So what will it be if they tear down those buildings, a BIG MESS!

Six years ago it would have costed only $18,000 to move it. The lot was free, the move was paid for by a large coorperation, the foundation work would have been donated, the concrete would have been half price. But, thats what happens when someone gets into office, has a power trip and tries to do things their way with a clean slate. Now, $150,000 for a lot, $40,000 + to move it, had to put out a bid and pay for the foundation and concrete has doubled in price from what it was then.

Do to the fact at the building now sits at the corner of center and main it is in violation of the truck route ordiance of the City of Braidwood. Also the ordiance of no tractor trailer parking in Braidwood. The building sitting in is present condition is in OSHA violation. The building is unstable. The city should have had the property ready for placement of buliding when moved.

I dont know who paid to move it but someone is paying for it to sit on the trailer. Do you think the moving company is going to let the building sit on the trailer for free? Its been there for a while and Im sure the moving company is charging top dollar while there equipment is tied up. Meanwhile were waiting for some scabs to build a foundation for $20,000. Just another example of braidwood politics if you have the right last name you can charge whatever you want and still get the job.

How is it in OSHA violation? OSHA stands for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. eye sore wrote: Do to the fact at the building now sits at the corner of center and main it is in violation of the truck route ordiance of the City of Braidwood.
