Afternoon Update: Final school year begins for Big Creek and Iaeger

The final school year begins Wednesday for two high schools in McDowell County. Both Big Creek High School and Iaeger High School will be closing following the conclusion of 2009-2010 school year.

can't wait to see all my IHS friends, so sad this is the last year for the school we had some good times and I'll miss that durn football field, my whole family played on it!

So sad indeed; I can remember us playing football with Big Creek back in the 50's.
My grandson had to change schools last year and now he travels over 2 hours per day on a school bus. It is very tiring.
Good luck to all the students in your new school next year.
Heard Richlands had some of your football players now.
