I'm thinking our justice system sucks, you hear on the news about people stealing and different types of drug, sex and alchol crimes that aren't life and death situations where the criminals are sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison. Not that I don't think those things are wrong and the people should be punished, but this man killed a man while driving recklessly. I realize he has to live life knowing that he killed a man, but I DO NOT feel up to two years in prison is enough for my friends life. Jim Browe was a great man who's life meant a whole lot more. I'm sorry for the mans family for having to deal with this, but what about Jim's family, at least Zachary Woodthorpe is still alive. I guess my point is if he wasn't quilty and it was a accident why did he lie to the police in the beginning. Facts are facts he was at fault and an innocent man died because of his recklessness.

Yeah it sucks but it's the way the law is written. There would have to have been malice or intentions to harm with the possibility of death for the sentence to be harsher. In other words, the prosecution would have to proove that he meant to crash, which I doubt he did. But I agree with you, should be a longer sentence.

Apparently now the police reconstruction was totally wrong. It was proven through the black box which was supposedly broken that he was only going 55..... he wasn't even going 1 mile over.... does he still deserve to be punished for an accident he tried to avoid?
