Former Prince manager testifies on truck traffic
The former manager of the Prince Manufacturing plant in Bowmanstown testified Wednesday that his old business was a hive of truck traffic, with occasional lines of tractor trailers picking up loads, customer visits, UPS deliveries and even truckers stopping to use the factory's scales.
Clark Lynn Jr., a 26-year employee of Prince, testified about the plant traffic as part of East Penn developer Duane Schleicher's case to open a recycling and trash transfer station at the site. The Bowmanstown Borough's Board of Zoning Appeals is considering whether to grant Schleicher an exception to allow the trash transfer station, where garbage trucks would consolidate their loads into larger trucks. Wednesday's meeting was the third public hearing in which the board listened to testimony and questions related to Schleicher's request.
