The local schools recently held their annual Geographic Bee. The winners were Matthew Hinds, sixth grader at Bowbells Public School; Jayson Knutson, seventh grader at Burke Central School; Grace Hove, seventh grader representing Powers Lake High School and Aiden Nordloef, fifth grader representing Powers Lake Elementary School.

Leaders from state agencies were holding working meetings with county and city officials in western North Dakota this past week, beginning Wednesday, January 11.

City and state officials packed the conference room at the Minot City Hall Friday afternoon to talk about one of the most important issues currently in the western part of the state infrastructure.
