Child porn case nets fed sentence

What this does not show is that the Feds charged Mr. Kerber using the SAME evidence that was used for the state charges. This was not a subsequent incident, but a case of the federal government secong-guessing the state judge. Mr. Kerber's original sentence in the state was identical to the sentence given a few weeks ago to a Cache County Sheriff's Department employee on similar charges. I wonder if the feds are going to re-charge him, too. Then again, maybe HE has money to pay for a private attorney, unlike Mr. Kerber.

Someone Who Knows: and just what sentence do you think anyone possessing ANY child porn, esp those containing sex acts of children, should get? Everyone should get a slap on the hands? You sound like this guy is innocent of ANY wrong doing! Someone having at least 200 pics of nude children performing sex acts is not innocent of anything, but being guilty about being caught. A different article stated that the state had evedence of plans to use his own granddaughters for sex! And he looks so nasty too! He should be shot down below and let things fester for a while before given medical attn.,then he should also be chemically castrated as his urges will probably continue, even tho the equip is gone.I thank the state and esp. the Feds for putting someone like him out of reach of children. And I am sure the feds did not use the same evidence he was charged with in state court.. there were at least 200 pics to choose from. IF he was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, 2 counts actually from records, how doe that equal the same charge as possession of child porn with children performing sex acts. If my research is right, each pic carries from 1-15 yrs of jail.. the fact he got only 1 year prev., shows he was not given even the most minor of sentences on pics., but was on diff. charges. Also, I think the feds should have thrown the book at him and given him at lease 200 years , one for each pic. Drug lords are given more sentencing! But then that is a different soapbox.
