Just noticed in the Blytheville paper that the editor said the best thing about the new company coming in was that it is not a steel company. Yeah I would hate to have anothe steel company come in and donate 1 Million dollars on top of the jobs they have created and the yearly donations to just about every local activity.... damned old steel companies

Also see all the posts about not getting to work for the steel companies. ANY area needs diverse opportunities, which was Andy's point. Look what happened to the steel industry when it was up north. Now, there is competition from other countries and ever-rising transportation costs. No telling what will be going on 20 years down the road...

He acknowledged how important the steel industry is...living in Armorel he would understand that. The point being that a strong economy is a diverse economy and I agree.

But oh no he had to say that it was good that it was not another steel company. Funny though, when he listed some of the latest dissapointments he mentioned the apparent loss of a planned steel facility. If he is so against any more steel companies coming in he should have been happy.
