BLYTHE - After five years of watching the wheels of justice grind, Kathy Green was found guilty of two counts of felony grand theft by embezzlement in an Indio courthouse on Nov. 4. Green, who in 2003 was the president of the Towne House Association and was employed at D&L Auto as a bookkeeper, pocketed over $62,000.

Palo Verde Hospital to implement tobacco-free policy
BLYTHE - Palo Verde Hospital will implement its new tobacco-free campus policy effective Nov. 19, which coincides with the National Smoke-Out Day.
The policy will prohibit employees, physicians, patients and visitors from using any tobacco products anywhere in the buildings or on the grounds of Palo Verde Hospital and the Palo Verde Professional Building.

Local gang, Goon squad said to be behind thefts
BLYTHE - After months of investigation, Blythe Police Officers were able to arrest nine people in connection with the burglaries that occurred between June 28-Sept. 29 on the south side area of Blythe.
Charles Richardson, 29, Steven Gregory Williams, 47, Jeffrey Rockmore, 41, Frank Watkins 24, Cedric Brookins, 18, and four juveniles, all of Blythe, were arrested in a joint effort by local law enforcement seeking an end to the months of homes being burglarized.
