A school bus-semi accident in Blue Hill, Nebraska took the lives of two students and the drivers of both vehicles last September.

U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., announced the designation Monday. He nominated the men for the award in December 2012 to recognize their bravery for rescuing five children from a burning bus in rural Webster County.
