Balloons dot the skies of Bloomfield at second annual rally

As the sun began to shine over the horizon in Bloomfield on Friday morning, a dozen hot air balloons lifted off the ground and launched the second annual San Juan River Balloon Rally.

I heard there were 69 balloons for the festival. Amazing!

I don't know how many there were, the most I saw was 6 at once (some where already on the ground) on Saturday and Sunday on my way to work. It was an awesom sight, I was walking out of my house,in Bloomfield (Friday am), glanced up and there bigger than life was a balloon, then 4 followed. I am not good with distances but I could clearly see the people. Not enough to ID though, I could hear the woosh of the gas. Those things are HUGE !! It was so awesome. I have never been to a balloon festival so to step out in my yard and see this, I can't describe the feeling. The yard work waited. I must have stood there over 1/2 an hour. My face hurt from grinning like an idiot.
