Sales tax increase turned down as town grapples with funding
“I can't just suddenly up the rent.”
The state-mandated 5 percent cap on next year's budget means the town of New Shoreham has $330,000 more to spend this year than last, Finance Director Amy Lewis said at Monday night's Town Council meeting. via The Block Island Times
