Robert J. Vyskocil, a financial services professional and a longtime Port Chester resident active in local community groups, is the new executive director of the Port Chester Housing Authority.

A charity started in the name of a fallen Sept. 11 firefighter marked a milestone Saturday as it celebrated its 10th annual event and hoped to raise thousands for homeless veterans.

Pearl River drew over 100 people for its community cleanup Saturday, one of six such events around Rockland County this weekend.

Plans are underway to expand the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail. Preliminary designs call for extending the trail approximately 1.6 miles north from the Lowe's on Route 303 to the Blauvelt Free Library on Western Highway, Supervisor Andy Stewart said.
