One good reason to never live in Picacho Hills--an amateur- run tiny utility.

We are thinking about buying a house in the Picacho Hills area, how bad is the water situation?

The problem is not the water in Picacho Hills. The problem is that the PRC will not enforce regulations or advocate for consumers. The commissioners are totally dependent on the staff. The staff is totally loyal to the attorneys who represent private, for-profit water companies. If you are a consumer or not-for-profit water utility you don't have standing with the PRC. I have personally sat for an entire day with PRC staff and cannot remember being exposed to as much blatant bias, anti-consumer sentiment as with these folks. If you want to see the epitome of "inside baseball" just take a peek at the hand-in-glove work the staff of the PRC does with attorneys representing entities they are supposed to regulate. You would think you are in Juarez.

So, the question is....will the house we want to buy in Picacho Hills have adequate water supply?

I guess I was interested in hearing from people who live in Picacho Hills. The houses I have seen in Picacho did not have pools and the yards were all desert landscaping...very little lush lawns.

"I didn't have any water in my house, either. Not even a bottle of water," Thurman said. "I can only imagine where that woman had to go to get some bottled water for her husband."
Sounds like Barbara needs a lesson in life in the desert - no water whatsoever in your home? She probably doesn't have a working flashlight when the "unreliable" electricity goes out too. I can tell you where these people could have gone for water for this poor poor man who got a splinter in his finger - how about to the store right down the doggon road. You people in your mansions, griping about water obviously didn't do any research about who and where your utilities were coming from before you moved away from whatever state you came from. Too bad you don't have as much sympathy for the working class stiffs here who aren't paid enough money to pay their utilities monthly and get shut off. You are all probably the same folks griping about the smell of green chili roasting..... |

Seriously? So, the PRC is driving around Picacho Hills executing the rich people? I don't recall seeing bodies with their heads chopped off laying in the streets..... hmmmm.... maybe we're thinking of 2 different Picacho Hills? I don't recall seeing houses like those in Juarez either. Maybe you're thinking Beverly Hills? |
