As for the reasons why Glenpool annexed the area of Hwy 75 all the way to 201st Street, I highly doubt it was soley for the purpose of providing the fine residents of southwestern Tulsa county with Glenpool's *cough* fine fire & rescue services. They seized an opportunity to grab ahold of the 8 miles of highway frontage in order to reap the tax benefits should that area become more developed in the future. With sales tax so high in the mostly-welfare bedroom community, no one wants to develop there... so the City of Glenpool, in all their vast knowledge, kinda shot themselves in the foot on that one.
