Man who started Bisbee wildfire could face criminal charges
Police in Bisbee are asking prosecutors to consider criminal charges against a man who started a wildfire that burned about 800 acres earlier this month.
Bisbee police officer Charlie Austin says he's forwarded his report to the Cochise County Attorney for review and possible charges against the man, who hasn't been publicly identified.
Fire officials say the fire began March 20 after the man cut down some trees on his property, doused them in gasoline and set them ablaze.
About 130 Bisbee residents were evacuated for two days as firefighters battled the flames. Read more
