Children hurt when ATV hits pickup

why were there 3 children on 1 off road ehicle? and where were the hamlets? and where rewe the parents of these children? allowing 3 children to ride on one ike with no superision I was under the impression that you had to e 14 to ride one. and from what ihae heard from the sheriff the kids are the one that hit the truck ! so the parents atte responsile and i hope someone reports them to child serices for not superising them children putting them in harms way

Ever notice how most ATV accidents involve some child or an adult that wasnt wearing a helmet. Ignorance is as ignorance does. I am an ATV advocate. I ride and enjoy the sport. I cannot stand the front page headlines when they say "person hurt or killed on ATV", then you read later that they were intoxicated had nothing on but cut-off shorts and no helmet or shoes or anything that could protect them. Or, you get the one where that same guy decided to go get hammered and take all of his nephews and nieces on a ride at a family reunion and none of the other adults have the brains to say no! Im so tired of idiots. They give a bad name and create bad press for otherwise safe and enjoyable things.

Although Op N.Wood can spell Johnny's name correctly, it does help the reader to gain a greater understanding of the poster's intentions if we are able to make out the words. A good example (just out of the blue) fonix might actually be understood if the phonetic spelling of phonics was correct.

this was a terrible accident....everyone should be thankful that the kids were not hurt worse. accidents happens no matter how good you watch your kids. kids are kids and accidents do happen. hopefully nothing bad ever happens to your kids. that way one one will get on the internet and blame you

these three kids are our family. every one needs to keep their nose out of it. accidents happen no matter how you watch your children. this is a small town and a lot of people including kids ride atv's in this town. quit throwing blame around. just make sure your kids are taken care of and you'll have your hands full. say a quick word of thanks they were not hurt worse, and if your childen have an accident and other people get on the internet and blame you we will say a payer for your family

No I don't believe that "Parents will be parents." The is BS. No helmets? underage kids? Come on! How bad does get have to be? Quad? semi quad? before we say, "maybe this type of riding is too much." Sign a waver that says you won't go for medical treatment under insurance and will be gald to payout of your own pocket for any injuries that happen during the riding of minors without safety equipment. That way, people who do have insurance won't have to pay for all these injuries.

I'm with the people who believe it was absolutely the parents fault! I don't care who does what in Birch Tree-the law is the law-and I can't count the laws the parents of these children broke! Maybe if the state of Mo would do their job and remove these children from the home of their negilent parents, people might begin to think twice before they just let their children run wild with no parental control.

my name is george trippe and im sick of people getting on here and talking s*it about my family. first of all the 13yr old bot is my nephew and HE WASN'T WITH HIS PARENTS!!! and his mother wouldnt have let him take off like that with other kids on the bike. he was at his grandparent riding his grandparent four wheeler so why dont you ALL shut the f*ck up and do somthing constructive like thank god noone was killed. He has paid the price for what he has done, and its not you peoples buisness.
