Body of missing Columbia man found near Michaux State Forest

Chad Stroup's truck was found one and a half miles down Birch Run Road. Chad Stroup State troopers found the body of a Columbia man Wednesday afternoon in Menallen Township, Adams County, near Michaux State Forest, according to state police.

Cuts might close library branch

The Arendtsville branch of the Adams County Library System might close by the end of the year because of a budget shortfall of roughly $243,000. Adams County Library System director Rob Lescher said the state cut funding to the library system by 20 percent, leading the system's overall revenue to drop by 12 percent.
