Sassafras, oaks, pines deliver surprises
Fall foliage fantasia is almost past. It was a particularly fine season, and there were some surprises this year, especially pleasing peach-blush colors of sassafras and wonderful deep reds of pin and scarlet oaks, as well as seasonal needle yellowing on the inner needles of native and exotic pines.
