Property tax relief could put pressure on local governments, schools
A drop in the net assessed value in the Mooresville school district is not only going to be permanent; it is likely to have the unintended consequence of hiking income, sales and other taxes, as the Indiana General Assembly struggles to lower property taxes for homeowners and businesses.
Recovery grants could be here within month
Within the next 30 days, Morgan County could start to receive grant assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for recovery from the June 2008 floods.
