Fedelina "Faye" Romero, 97, was released to the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008. She was born in Sabinoso Aug. 8, 1910, to Florencio and Escolastica Esquibel. She was a longtime resident of the Rio Mora, Roy and Springer communities. "Nuestra Senora Fedelina era una gran ranchera y jardinera."
Faye lived her life as an example and an inspiration to those she encountered. She gave to others more than she gave to herself and asked for and expected nothing in return. Her candidness and her cooking talents will be dearly missed by family and friends. Read more

Should there be more economic development or light industry in Socorro, and if so how do we reasonably go about soliciting for it?

Jean Fraissinet: As a present member of the Industrial Pak Committee, we are working with the Socorro Chamber of Commerce Economic Director in developing our leases at the park which will help attract new business and jobs for Socorro.
Michael Olguin Jr.: I would continue to support the county and the city in their plans to develop the industrial park at the south end of Socorro. Now that the Chamber of Commerce is aggressively looking at economic development I believe the coordination with the city and Chamber should continue. Read more
