How unfair. The basic aid school districts already give up State funds. We also have more bond issues and parcel fees. We have apid for our own schools. Just because Democrat controlled Sacramento will not cut spending significantly, now thay going to attack education and take more money from some that already pay more than their share? Let Novato pass a parecel fee to pay their bills.

And eliminate pensions for all State employees. No one gets them anymore.

I like your proposal for eliminating pensions, but I'd add eliminating the unions whose rules forbid parents from doing some of the volunteer work around the school property.

I'd like to propose one other change. For all people in Ross, etc., I propose that those who inherited their property and are thus paying an inequitable amount in property tax, relinquish that free money and send it to the State to go directly to schools. Along those lines, if you're not a granny on a fixed income, all property taxes should be increased. This is on top of eliminating the Prop 13 windfall for businesses. There is a direct correlation between the passing of Prop 13 and the death spiral of California's schools.

I agree greedy legislators and State employees and their unions also play a significant part in the demise of California, but Prop 13 added to the perfect storm.

It is not Prop 13 that has caused the "death spiral of California schools", it is the government's choice to waste that hard earning tax payer's money on those who come to this country illegally, and support their illegal residency, through the taxpaying funds for education, housing, health care, etc. If we eliminated supporting the illegal aliens, ie undocumented residents, the state would have money to spend on the tax paying citizens who deserve it.

What's wrong with this picture?? Why are there so many superintendents for Marin elementary schools? If we were to combine school districts, there would be more money available for programs to educate our children. We need to spend our money wisely and direct the dollars to students, not administrators!

I want higher taxes! I love paying taxes and getting inferior schools in return! That's the Mill Valley way!

Mill Valley schools are some of the best anywhere idiot. If we could only stop liberals from wasting tax dlooars on all of their favorite charities and vote bribes, it's all be ok. Vote out the democrats in Sacramento who have led CA into demise for 50 years
