why havent we heard about this guy who lives in Tibouron and breaks into people's houses. It sounds to me like the IJ, the chamber of commerce, the real estate agents, and the police are all in cohoots to give the impression that crime is low in Marin

Not true. If you live there, the Ark publishes the police log every week. As for your second statement - the police are always asking people to use common sense and secure their property and when people don't, crime happens, always has, always will.

This news report is very sketchy. Are we talking about the posible suspect living public housing near the Police Department, where what looked like foreign gang members have lived comfortably on the public dole along side of disabled, vulnerable Americans? What is the San Rafael connection? Names please! I understand discretion during an ongoing investigation, but Tiburon residents should be made aware of possible strong leads to protect ourselves.

Aside from your poor grammar, you make absolutely no sense. The article clearly says that nothing was taken. Therefore robbery was NOT a motive.

Keep in mind that FBI statistics show that the larger percentage of murders are committed by acquaintances or relatives of the victim. The indication is that she knew the suspect so the stronger lead would point to a neighbor, or relative of a neighbor. Considering the time of the murder, it was someone she was expecting. Given that it was a gunshot fatality, it more than likely was a male perpetrator.

Those logs are doctored and narrated by a biased author...Yeah, my friend was robbed at gunpoint in Tib, right by the police station...I do not blame the person comitting the crime, I agree with the comment above to use common sense and secure your property, but the police do protect you, they are your masters.

So is a $2000 dollar reward really supposed to persuade someone with informatin to come forward? This is a murder not a stoled car.

Should you comment on bad grammar? One fact
about Marin; there's always someone with
more education reading posts.

"Therefore robbery was NOT a motive." frag.

"The indication is that she knew the suspect so the" comma before so-

"Given that it was a gunshot fatality, " use the active voice, but that's a preference.

Yea, I don't get the reward? A DOJ fugitive, who
killed a detective, had a 2,000,000 price on his
head--payed for with taxpayer money. Did you
ever notice how high the reward go up to when
a Cop is killed? And how hard the detectives work to solve the crime?

Reading your reply - remember when the Chronicle a long time ago would publish the crime report by neighborhood in SF? Anyone know whether Marin does this and if it's online? About the Ark - yes, it's a local paper, with all that's good and bad about that. But it's better knowing weekly something is going on than relying on IJ to print only murders or other events that make news that sells.

I would recomend getting out of your car and walking along the side of the freeway, going under bridges and in alley's if you want real news. It is written on the walls, it is plastered on the backs of buildings in graffiti language. Going off what other people tell you, isn't that like if so and so jumps on a building are you gonna too? Much respect to you. The Marin IJ would not publish stats because it would prove they alter the stats. Information is systematically released for manipulation purposes only. Its a war, the government is killing its own people. Maybe a police scanner would be appropriate, but according to the G20 joke of a protest, people using police radio scanners to tell protesters the location of police were arrested as terrorist. Isn't it a terrorist act to control information? I am fighting for you Mom, and my mother like you once....I appologize if I have been rude or disrespectful in anyway, It was not my intention to do so, however I am often taken out of context and misenterpreted.

No apologies needed. I hope that new media continues to pressure the traditional press to raise their game and report more than what sells, be it the paper itself or the information therein. But "we the people" are just as guilty - no longer outraged when we hear of a person's unnatural death, a crime against one is a crime against all of us and it is a shame we sit by and watch without acting - is it just too much to bear? Is it too much to ask that they print crime logs, and note also that there is much that goes unreported for fear of retaliation or being ignored by those sworn to protect and serve? Perhaps people would get back to knowing what really goes on in their neighborhoods and communities and try to do something about making things better for everyone - but more likely not.

Since the "D" key is nowhere near the "N" key on your keyboard, we're going to have to call you on this one. Although this might be a job for the grammar police...
