Simply put: all incumbent's must be voted OUT.

They not only waste taxpayer money, but illegally INCREASE taxes with their end run on refusing to honor the traditional code of conduct concerning the lateral sewer lines from the curb to the main.

These gangstas passed the illegal policy of forcing home owners to pay for the work, without the option to take care of the job themselves.

They are typical Marxist gangstas, nothing more.

VOTE THEM OUT!!!

And let the cold hearted Satanic replacements beware.

I have been a Belmont resident for almost 20 years and have attended these City Council meetings. The board members, mainly Coralin Feierbach, are out and out rude to Belmont residents who don't agree with her views.

A group of us were in favor of a school adding a building in back of our homes. We were invited as residents that reside within 300 feet of the project. One other block opposed the building; both sides gave their argument. Corlain shouted out, after telling everyone all comments were now closed, that our block had no right to make any comments!!!

WE WERE INVITED TO THE MEETING AS PEOPLE WHO RESIDE BY THE PROJECT!

My husband wrote her and the city council a letter stating what he felt about her outburst. She responded back that she felt strongly about the issue; but of course never apologized. The
mayor was another joke; he didn't take a strong stand and just said he didn't like the way some of the council members acted.

Her and her cronies need to be voted out.

The problem is no one of character wants the job, as they all do real work.

Dickerson had some promise, but couldn't figure out his stupid girl friend, or whatever.

I'm a lifelong peninsula resident, Notre Dame grad, and have lived in Belmont since 1995. I am supporting Gin Nikoloff and Mike Mcguiness for city council. Please let me know if anyone would like to help. We need to get Coraline and her cronies out of there NOW. It's too bad Christina Wozniak's seat isn't up this year, because that is another one who needs to take a hike. Thanks to this group, we have an empty blghted lot still sitting on the El Camino, traffic jams on Alameda in front of Carlmont, schools that have been blocked from expanding/updgrading their facilities, not to mention ridiculous unenforceable laws like the smoking ban in apartments and condos. This group is so full of themselves and out of touch with reality, when friends of ours wanted to expand outdoor dining to the patio off their restaurant, one of the board members suggested that the space could be better used as a day care facility! At another meeting, a local school wanted to expand their facility - which has been in operation as a school in that location for decades - and Wozniak herself questioned whether the school had the right to exist there at all. These people are from another planet, and don't represent the interests of the people of Belmont at all.

Warren Lieberman should not be painted with the same broad brush as the others. He is reasonable and independent.

I agree. I have spoken with him before and he is a very decent person. The two that need to go are Coraline Feierbach and Christine Wozniak. Unfortunately, only Coraline's seat is up.

Warren is just another Marxist and a taxpayer thief.

He must be voted out, assuming he hasn't diebolded the booths.

I was at the candidates forum last night. The questioning was staged. We filled out question cards at the beginning, but the moderator already had his own set of hand-picked softball questions for the candidates. Coralin was predictably hypocritical and self-serving. Her comment about endorsing the 300-foot notification requirement on all development didn’t include the fact that she has told people within that radius to shut up during council meetings, and her statement about improving relations with NDNU was insincere to the say the least in light of her opposition to the university on issues important to the campus. But that didn’t stop her from showing up for a free meal at their innaugural dinner a couple of weeks ago. She also engaged in repeated eye-rolling when the newcomers spoke, and made it clear in her remarks that she supported Warden getting elected back to the board (so she could fortify the old guard on the council). The final question about the importanace of experience was clearly designed to prop up the incumbents and Warden, but all you have to do is look at downtown Belmont, the empty Koret field, the blighted lot at El Camino and O'Neill, the 35 acres of mostly undevelopable land in San Juan Canyon that Coralin spent a million on to protect it from development, and the traffic congestion in front of Carlmont High to see what experience has gotten us.

Please don't just complain about Coralin here, and do what you can to get people to vote her out. There is an expected low voter turnout this year, which favors Coralin and her cronies.

as a belmont resident of 15 years, i agree that feierbach needs to go. and warden needs to be kept from coming back. i will be voting for nikoloff, leiberman and mcguiness, because the old guard that has had a stranglehold on our city is out of touch. their attitudes(yes, i've seen council meetings where feierbach is outright rude to people) come across as "i know what is good for you...let me 'educate' you" (ie: the ridiculous smoking ordinance - and i'm not even a smoker). in the meantime, we still have an underdeveloped downtown, schools and businesses that are prevented from expanding, and we are shelling out $1 million for a piece of land in the name of "preserving open space", land that would have not been developed anyway because it's pretty much unbuildable.

if i had known what these old guard council members and their cronies were like when we were house hunting 15 years ago, we would have looked in san carlos instead...

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
