The American Red Cross began handing out cleaning kits to thousands of flood victims throughout the Chicago area, including Bellwood, one of the city's hardest hit areas.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7 DUI, Passengers w/ Cannabis Police charged Rob M. Hannus, 21, of the 600 block of Sand Creek, Carol Stream, with driving under the influence of alcohol.
The 27-year-old man was standing outside a vehicle on 22nd Avenue near Washington Boulevard about 3:45 p.m. when he got into an altercation and was shot, Bellwood spokesman Andre Harvey said.

The man was shot near 22nd Avenue and Washington Boulevard in Bellwood, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for DUI
Elmhurst police arrested several drivers last weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol: Jessie Alba, 47, 209 S. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with DUI after police responded to a call for a reckless driver at Arthur and Church streets in Bensenville at 9:59 p.m. March 29.
