Plans to build and operate a 60-inch water pipeline from Bellvue to Greeley are being affected by other projects that would draw water from the Poudre River, including the controversial Glade Reservoir.

Starting at the intersection of Overland Trail and Larimer County Road 50E south of LaPorte, head west over Bingham Hill on County Road 50E. Take a quick right on Country Road 23 into Bellvue then a left on County Road 52E. From here, it's 12 miles up County Road 52E to County Road 27 with the curves sharper and the ascent steeper as you go. Near the top, you'll be riding a 12 percent grade and have gained about 2,500 feet. At the nearly 8,000-foot top, it's a one mile blast down to the intersection with Stove Prairie Road (County Road 27). Turn left and head south on this gentle rolling downhill where you will descend 1,000 feet to Masonville. From here, continue east on a rolling County Road 38E back to Fort Collins. If you wish for additional hills and scenery, you can continue on County Road 23 along the east side of Horsetooth Reservoir and hook up with Overland Trail to complete the loop.
