Legislating morality is a wonderful oxymoron, considering how many politicians have no morals to begin with.

Have the adult venues in city hall. There seems to be no other adult activity going on there.

I used to live in Belle Isle. Really nice part of Orlando. Too bad they are doing that. Put the damn places on OBT !!

Most cities engage in the cycle of putting the strip clubs and porn shops in the crime-prone areas, and then when there is crime, blaming those businesses for it.
These businesses don't make crime break out. Not any more than a store or bar with the same hours does. |

Why do they not want the adult business near them, will it cut into the sex business in Belle Isle.

That's karma, baby! Belle Isle has a history of fighting everything - light rail, the Central Connector to name a few. It's about time something got forced into their snotty back yards that they can't do anything about. Besides, the ta-ta bar would be so much more convenient for Rich Crotty and his delinquent son if it were built in the area.

They can coexist!

There are nothing but stuck-up snobs in that area anyways.

What? You mean property values might drop more than they already have?

I dont know what the big deal is Belle isle has Rachel's south plus the trail with 4 more strip clubs and Premier adult factory outlet. So there is ton of porn over here already but its not even fun porn damn bathing suit law.
What we don't want in Belle Isle is more toothless dumb ass "Buttwider" drinking locals looking at a bunch of brain dead, crack head, baby farmers with mud flap titties. They already do that at Jesse Blacks Saloon on Oakridge every Saturday its called country night. There is a place that should be burned down and its patrons sterilized you would see the I.Q. of Orange County go up a few points and WIC usage go way down. If Belle Isle wants to do something to clean it up keep the Hoods, Illegals and homeless on the west side of orange ave and half their problems would go away. I'll build a catapult to help with that problem shoot em all into lake Conway if they survive they can stay if they don't at least we get the level of the lake back up to 1990 levels. |

Seriously, in this economic situation, they have the gall to condemn a business? Their cash is as green as everyone elses. I don't understand the "won't someone please think of the children" argument. So there is a sign up fron that says "Girls!". Is that really going to warp your child's fragile little mind? If you're child is that easily swayed to the "dark side" than that is your failure as a parent, not the problem of adults doing adult things.

No alcohol allowed at strip clubs in the city limits? I'd suspect the business would do poorly anyway...
|
||||

What a bunch of prudes!

Where is Belle Isle?
|
||||
|
I'm a resident and think it would be fantastic if this establishment opened. However, what kind of bar is fun with no alcohol. And even Orange County's rules at strip clubs are so strict its a joke. No lap dances, etc.
I can't wait until the older conservative jackasses wither away and die so the new generation can take over. |

When you buy a house near an industrial/warehouse district, you can't expect your values to stay high forever. The solution would be for Belle Isle's residents to buy the offending land.

Well - most comments I have read are typical of what has happened to the morals in this country!!!! You Belle Isle - Edgewater residents have one of the biggest "silent partners" and pushers of the girlie clubs living right among you - maybe he wants to get some "work" places closer to where he lives - not so far to transport the money!!!!!!!!
|
||||
|
You have to wonder, if they aren't selling alcohol, how are they making any money at all?? Selling sandwiches?? Riiight. Maybe their profits come from a "Cover" charge? Or would that be an "UNcover" charge??
No alcohol... "that damned bathing suit law"(???)... Sounds depressing. And anyone 'driven' to frequent such places is probably going to be more of a victim than a major crime element... Unless you assume that major crime elements are drawn to where they can find "low hanging fruit", easy to pluck. Who knows... who cares, actually? |

I am thrilled this business is thinking about opening here.
I will be there on opening night. This will bring jobs to our community for both men and women. |

Why can't we all just get along.....
